Hyperion Planning Management Design Expert
A Design Expert is responsible for leading and managing Hyperion Planning projects. They must have in-depth knowledge of the Hyperion Planning and Essbase products. They will have overall responsibility for the design and implementation of small projects; including design, implementation and project management. On larger projects, the Design Expert may be responsible for a specific application and would typically work with the assigned Project Manager to ensure the overall project is managed to success. A Design Expert is able to perform the routine and non-routine tasks independently, and will be asked to coach others on The Goal Getters team.


  • All implementation work should be completed in accordance with The Goal Getter’s implementation methodology and standards, and be completed independently.
  • Validate the initial requirements analysis, document design and design the application by integrating product knowledge with the client requirements.
  • Conduct design meeting with project team(s), ascertain client business and technical needs, and provide information to determine project scope. In preparation, includes reviewing and understanding any presale documentation/proposals.
  • Obtain design validation from cross section of client resources (design, technical, and product).
  • Perform continuous reevaluation of the design and adjust the system accordingly.
  • Review and finalize project documentation produced by other team members, or create project documentation independently as client project requires. Ensure knowledge is transferred to the client.
  • Participate in leadership and management training and development that focus on initiative.
  • Actively seek career development goals and supporting plan.
  • Enhance conflict resolution and communication skills through training and development


  • Four-year university degree in fields such as (but not limited to) Business, Finance, Information Systems, Mathematics, or CIS or equivalent experience and four years experience in a related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Must be product certified in Hyperion Planning (Hyperion Planning); new hires must obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • Must be product certified in Hyperion Essbase; new hires must obtain certification within 12 months of hire date.
  • Successful completion of basic project management training curriculum.
  • Experience with financial accounting processes.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years overall experience in functional or technical role.
  • Financial and/or web application experience.
  • Candidate will have strong leadership competencies and have success managing cross functional teams.
  • Consistent ability to build rapport with team members and clients.
  • Candidates will have excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as conflict resolution skills.
  • Success in leading at least 3 medium, multi-location Hyperion projects, resulting in customer success.
  • Candidates must have strong presentation skills for working with middle management and executive management teams.
  • Regional travel, up to 100% depending on location and project location (may require some weekend travel).
  • Extensive use of car, depending on location.
  • Reimbursable out of pocket expenses incurred (e.g. for travel).
  • Virtual offices will require independence and self-motivation and working under individual initiative to establish procedures and prioritize tasks.

  • Work may require rapid, short-notice response to client and business needs.
