Hyperion Strategic Finance Consultant

Areas of Responsibility

Business Management
  • Gathering business requirements from clients regarding their strategic planning processes
  • Designing financial models, reports and consolidation structures
  • Obtain design validation from cross section of client resources (design, technical, and product) Obtain design validation from cross section of client resources (design, technical, and product)
  • Identifying business drivers and developing model forecast logic
  • Contribute to developing integrated Hyperion Platform solutions (e.g., HFM, HP, DRM, HSF, HPCM, etc.)
  • All implementation work should be completed in accordance with The Goal Getter’s implementation methodology and standards, and be completed independently.
  • Review and finalize project documentation produced by other team members, or create project documentation independently as client project requires. Ensure knowledge is transferred to the client.
  • Conduct design meeting with project team(s), ascertain client business and technical needs, and provide information to determine project scope. In preparation, includes reviewing and understanding any presale documentation/proposals.
  • Validate the initial requirements analysis, document design and design the application by integrating product knowledge with the client requirements.
  • Perform continuous reevaluation of the design and adjust the system accordingly.

Minimal Entry Requirements

Education & Certifications
  • Four-year university degree in fields such as (but not limited to) Business, Finance, Information Systems, Mathematics, or CIS or equivalent experience and four years experience in a related field. CPA/CA, CFA or Masters in Finance/Economics preferred.
  • Must be product certified in Hyperion Strategic Finance (HSF); new hires must obtain certification within six months of hire date.
  • Successful completion of basic project management training curriculum.
Experience
  • Experience with strategic finance and strategic planning processes.
  • Minimum of three years project experience in HSF implementations in functional role.
  • Financial and/or web application experience.
  • Experience with other Oracle Hyperion Products is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with Oracle’s Crystal Ball is a plus, but not required
Demonstrated Skills
  • Solid understanding of the following concepts: Cash Flow Forecasting, Discounted Cash Flow Valuation, Consolidation Accounting, Mergers and Acquisitions, Divestitures, Capital Structure and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Solid understanding in Valuation Methods: VBM, EVA, CFROI, DCF, etc.
  • Candidates will have effective presentation skills. Expect to present to senior level executives within 6 months of start date.
  • Consistent ability to build rapport with team members and clients.
  • Success in leading at least 3 medium Hyperion projects, resulting in customer success.
  • Candidates will have excellent communication and negotiation skills as well as conflict resolution skills.
  • Candidates will have strong leadership competencies and have success managing cross functional teams.
  • Candidates must have strong presentation skills for working with middle management and executive management teams.
Working Conditions
  • Regional travel, up to 100% depending on location and project location (may require occasional weekend travel).
  • Extensive use of car, depending on location.
  • Reimbursable out of pocket expenses incurred (e.g. for travel).
  • Virtual offices will require independence and self-motivation and working under individual initiative to establish procedures and prioritize tasks.
